Blue Didymium - Single Vision Rx
Blue Didymium Single Vision Prescription Lenses. We need the following details to correctly manufacture single vision prescription lenses for you: Your prescription as it is written out as it is on the form you received from your optical professional like this: Right Eye Sphere x.xx Cylinder x.xx Axis xxx followed by Left Eye Sphere x.xx Cylinder x.xx Axis xxx. If your prescription requires prismatic correction, please note the amount for each eye after the entry for Axis and the direction: in, out, up, down. If your prescription is spherical only, you may see the letter DS or a line through Cylinder. Just enter the data as shown on your prescription. Replace xx with the numbers on your prescription, please be sure to include any plus (+) or minus (-) signs as indicated. The second thing we need is your Pupillary Distance. This is a measurement of the distance between your eyes and can be listed as a single number, for example: 64, or as a "split PD" such as: 32/32. Either way is acceptable. Note that PDs are required for all corrective eyewear and that we cannot process your order in our lab without it. Failure to provide a PD at the time of your order will result in your order being delayed until we receive it.

Blue Didymium™ is our exclusive new soft glass torchworking filter. It is an updated recipe for the old Schott ACE glass. This filter is not sourced from Schott but from one of their competitors. We are also pleased to announce that the Blue Didymium™ is available in a 71 mm diameter lens and accordingly, all our previous restrictions on frame sizing have been removed.

A side benefit of this filter is the apparent improvement in judging the color temperature of the glass while working it. The observed color is extremely comfortable when viewing glowing heat sources for long periods of time.

Suggested uses are lampworking of soft glass beads and small sculptures. Not recommended for work on very high-temperature glasses for long periods of time.

Blue Didymium™ prescription lenses are available supplied with Aura's exclusive AuraLite™ process. A 3.2 mm thick wafer of Blue Didymium™ is laminated over a thinly ground glass crown glass lens. This lamination process also makes for a safer lens.

Lenses are available in Plano (non-prescription), single vision, D-28 bifocals, and 7x28 trifocals. Progressive (invisible) bifocals are not available with this filter.

Thickness Advisory: This filter is thicker than normal lenses. In non-prescription form, it is approximately 3 mm thick. Single vision prescription adds at least 1 mm, bifocal prescription adds at least 2 mm.

NOTE: This lens is designed for SOFT GLASS ONLY. DO NOT USE FOR OR WITH BOROSILICATE GLASS TYPE WITHOUT ADDITIONAL FILTER PROTECTION!!

BE SURE TO SELECT A FRAME WHEN YOU ARE DONE!
